Paige Hadley reunites with old Swifts teammates Susan Pettitt, Caitlin Thwaites for Fast 5 netball

OLD teammates Paige Hadley, Susan Pettitt and Caitlin Thwaites will be briefly reunited as part of a team hoping to complete an impressive trifecta for Australian netball.

OLD teammates and new rivals — NSW Swifts midcourter Paige Hadley, new GWS Giants shooter Susan Pettitt and Collingwood gun Caitlin Thwaites — will be briefly reunited as part of a team hoping to complete an impressive trifecta for Australian netball at this year’s world Fast 5 championships.

The championships will be held in Melbourne from late October to November with Australia fielding a 10-strong line-up which includes six Diamonds squad members.

Thwaites, who teamed with Pettitt at the Swifts in 2016 for one of the most formidable shooting combinations in the game, last week signed on with the new Magpies team for the 2017 national netball league.

A day later Pettitt confirmed she had moved across town to the GWS Giants team with midcourter Kim Green.

And on Friday Hadley confirmed she would be staying put with a rebuilding Swifts for the upcoming season.

The objective of the team is to further confirm Australia’s status as top netball nation in the world

“The Diamonds are reigning Commonwealth Games and Netball World Cup gold medallists and we are working to join them as Fast 5 Netball World Series gold medallists,” said coach Jane Searle.

The two-day Fast 5 event will see six teams play a modified version of the game which includes multiple point shots and double point power plays.

Games will be just 24 minutes with Australia, New Zealand, England, Jamaica, Malawi and South Africa each playing six matches.
