THERE are days when everything feels like its been turned on its head — for mother-of-two and Winter Olympic star Lydia Lassila that’s pretty much the norm.

But Lassila, one of three Aussie women to win World Cup medals on the weekend, is hoping more mums will be enticed back to elite sport after her stunning World Cup win at Deer Valley.

The aerial skier produced a Full Double Full to win her first event since deciding to bid for a fifth Winter Olympics following a break to give birth to her second son.

“This is the feeling that I missed and came back for,” she said. “It’s not the winning so much — it’s being able to do your best, the pure adrenaline and the fun.

“Hopefully we will get a few more mums out there going after what they want. You can have it all — on some days,’’

Lassila, who finished fifth in her return to elite competition a fortnight ago, is bidding to compete in Korea next year where she will attempt to become the first Australian to win three Winter Olympics medals.

Lassila’s triumph follows on from World Cup leader Britt Cox’s third in her Moguls event in the US while fellow Australian Belle Brockhoff raced to her second World Cup win of the 2016/2017 season in Bulgaria on Sunday.

Brockhoff, 24, has regained the No. 1 spot on the snowboard cross world rankings with the victory.

“I’m really happy to now be the tour leader, it’s been goal of mine for a long time and I am looking to maintain that,’’ she said.
