The annual award is presented by US network ABC and recognises top individual and team achievement.
Kerr, the AFC Women’s Football of the Year, Julie Dolan Medal recipient and Young Australian of the Year, has made the cut due to her exploits in the world-class American National Women’s Soccer League in 2017 and 2018.
The Australian has been nominated for Best International Women’s Soccer Player and Best NWSL Player.
Kerr owned the NWSL in 2017 with her former Sky Blues FC club, setting a new record for goals with a personal haul of 17 during the season.
The feat earned her the MVP award for the competition.
This year, with new club Chicago, she sits in second place on the scorers list with five goals.
