HER Diamonds return for the Commonwealth Games is still touch-and-go but new mum Laura Geitz will make her return to the elite game in Sydney next year in the opening round of the Super Netball 2018 competition.
The full fixture for the 2018 competition has been released with NSW clubs, the Giants and Swifts, to host Queensland teams, Lightning and the Firebirds, in round one in a double-header at Qudos Bank Arena.

POSSIBLE RETURN: Door open for Laura Geitz
While the Giants and Lightning will meet in a rematch of last season’s decider on April 29, former Australian captain Geitz’s return to the top domestic competition in the world will come in the Firebirds match with the Swifts.
The last time Geitz, a first-time mother to son Barney, played for the Firebirds was against the Swifts in the grand final of the now defunct trans-Tasman league grand final back in 2016.
Australian netball coach Lisa Alexander says she has left the door open for a possible return to the Diamonds by Geitz in the new year.

Alexander has flagged the possibility of Geitz even travelling with the Australian team to England for the Quad series early in 2018.
If this happens Geitz is a very chance of playing in front of a home crowd in the netball competition at next year’s Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
