NEW WORLD: Athletes create own world surf series
UPDATED: With mother nature on her side, paddler Jessica Fox has kept her spectacular World Cup winning run intact with her fourth gold medal in just over a week.
Fox raced off with her second C1 gold medal of the season in the second leg of the World Cup in Krackow, Poland.
The Penrith paddler, who won gold in both the C1 and K1 in the season opener in Slovakia a week ago, admitted she had the best of the weather conditions with winds and rain hindering her rivals.

“The conditions changed so much towards the end, I think I was lucky to go down when it wasn’t raining, wasn’t windy,” Fox said.
“I had a great run, a couple of touches though that I was a bit frustrated with, but it was a fast run and I’m very happy to win again.’’
The win followed on from Fox claiming victory in the K1 event at the same meet on Saturday where she recovered from a terrible qualifying performance to claim another victory.
In that race Fox took the honours in the K1 of the Canoe Slalom World Cup ahead of French paddler Lucie Baudu and Italian Stefanie Horn.
The results are another boost for Fox’s campaign to win her first gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
