Cyclist Anna Meares, Diamonds captain Clare McMeniman call time for Swoop Play of the Week
A CYCLING legend and a top netballer have both called it quits in the space of seven days to earn SWOOP PLAY OF THE WEEK.

IT was a tough call but Australian flag bearer Anna Meares has called it quits after an extraordinary career of world titles and Olympic glory.
And joining her on the sidelines is Australian Diamonds captain Clare McMeniman who played her last game in the green and gold against New Zealand
The loss of two sporting greats in the space of seven days has seen the first joint Swoop Play of the Week awarded.
A team leader, role model, charity ambassador for Little Heroes, Meares has almost made as much of an impression in her time off the bike as she has on it.
But it is for her feats on that Meares name has been written in the history books.
The cycling legend has earned Swoop Play of the Day for her extraordinary success as a rider on the track and as a person off it.
Meares in London became the first cyclist to medal at four successive e Olympic Games.
She retires in the wake of the Rio Olympics with six medals with include the gold and silver she won in London four years ago and the gold and silver from the Athens Olympics.
And after 22 years of riding she also leaves the track with 11 world titles, a staggering nine Commonwealth Games medals and 35 Australian titles.
Her legacy will be tales of courage and heroics with Meares return from a broken back one of sports most extraordinary and inspiring comebacks.
“I am really proud of my longevity, also proud of the level of high consistency in my performances and results during my career,” she said.
“It is hard to close this chapter, because it is a bloody big one, but I am really excited about the doors opening in to the next chapter of my life.”
McMeniman farewelled the international scene when she lead the Diamonds to victory against the Silver Ferns in the Constellation Cup.
McMeniman and her teammates won the series 3-1 to end the international netball season on a high.
2016 was a year to remember for the netballer who also helped her Queensland Firebirds teammate to victory in the last ANZ championship.
