Buildcorp adds Super W to its list of rugby sponsorships

ONE of rugby’s greatest pathways supporter, Buildcorp, has officially come on board as the naming rights partner of the inaugural Super W.
The sponsorship adds to their stable to rugby connections alongside the naming rights for the Australian women’s team, the Wallaroos, as well as others at club rugby level.
The partnership makes sense considering Buildcorp pulled its naming rights sponsorship of the NRC after Rugby Australia was unable to create a women’s competition to run in tangent with the men’s.
Buildcorp principal Josephine Sukkar said the creation of Super W helped connect the pathways for the women’s game, which is something they wanted to support.
“Our major sponsorship investment over the last 27 years always has been, and still is in men’s and women’s club rugby,” Sukkar said.
“We are extending our support of the women’s game to connect a player pipeline from club to the national level.
“This fills an existing gap and ensures that, like Buildcorp, Australian Rugby is structured to provide the same opportunities for women and men.”
The Buildcorp Super W competition kicks off in Brisbane on March 10 with Queensland Women hosting NSW Women in a double-header alongside the Super Rugby clash between the Queensland Reds and South Africa’s Bulls at Suncorp Stadium.
Fox Sports confirmed this week that all Super W games would be shown on their channels, either live or delayed.
