Alyssa Healy set a new mark for the fastest Twenty20 hundred by an Australian with a jaw-dropping display of hitting in Australia’s emphatic win over Sri Lanka on Wednesday.
Two days after featuring in her 100th international T20, Healy eclipsed Aaron Finch’s 47-ball hundred against England in 2013 with a blistering ton at North Sydney Oval.
The opener reached triple figures in 46 balls on her way to the highest individual score by an Australian woman in T20s.
Star teammate Ellyse Perry was full of praise for the stunning knock.
“It was outrageous. Very much (Healy’s) style I think,” Perry said.
“Incredible display of batting and just awesome to watch as well.”

The Australians amassed 2-226 against Sri Lanka thanks to Healy’s heroics as she clubbed 148 from 61 balls.
“Just one of those days where everything seemed to come out of the middle,” she told Channel 7.
The Aussie keeper motored to her half-century from 25 balls and accelerated after raising the bat.
Her next 50 came from only 21 deliveries as Australia wrapped up a 3-0 series triumph in style with a commanding 132-run win.

Her innings included 19 fours and seven sixes as she passed teammate Meg Lanning’s 133 against England in July.
“I thought she might have faced a few more in the last few overs, but I told her I was coming for her,” Healy said.
“It came off in the end. Just good to see we got a really good total on the board again.”
West Indian Deandra Dottin holds the record for the fastest ton in Women’s T20 internationals, set in 2010 when she hammered a 38-ball hundred against South Africa.
