IT’S a shot she has been focusing on at training and import Asia Taylor put it to good effect when she nailed a massive three-pointer to save the day for the Sydney Uni Flames in the defending WNBL champions first home game of the season.
Taylor produced her match-winner with just nine seconds to go to edge the Flames in front of Dandenong in their only outing of the second round of the WNBL.

“She got us that win for sure,” said coach Cheryl Chambers, after the Flames came from 10 points down at halftime to claim their second win of the new season 70-65.
“It was a great shot. Asia has been working on that shot so to see it come off is pretty pleasing.”
Taylor finished the match with 17 points and 11 rebounds in an impressive display from the American who joined the Flames last season.
While Chambers lamented the Flames’ slow start to the game, there were positives, including having all five of their starters recording double figures.

Sharing the scoring load was a key to the Flames success last season and helped deliver them Sydney’s first WNBL crown since 2000.
Chambers is, however, concerned about her sides poor starts to games.
“Once again, our first half is really slow. We really lacked energy,” she said.
“We found ourself in a hole we have to dig out of.”
Captain Belinda Snell contributed 14 points and seven rebounds, Alex Wilson 14 points and five rebounds, Jen Hamson 11 points and nine rebounds and Katie Rae Ebzery 14 points, one rebound and five assist.
