HOT TIPS: WEEKEND BEST BETS
DOOMBEN
NATHAN EXELBY (The Courier-Mail). Form: 20401
CASHING UP
Race 3, No. 5
Ran a slashing race first up then dropped back to the 1000m at Toowoomba, he was never in his comfort zone as the winner won by a big space. Returns to his own age group this week and gets to 1350m, which looks far more suitable.
TAB Fixed Odds: $8.50
BEN DORRIES (The Courier-Mail). Form: 1710x
ALL PLUCK
Race 4, No. 6
As much as $10 was bet about this Tony Gollan 2YO first-starter who beat key rivals, the well-performed Candika and Nicconi Leggara, in a recent jumpout. Looked impressive and happy to take the odds on offer which are already into $8.50 and should trim up shorter. Good gate and Jim Byrne hops aboard.
TAB Fixed Odds: $7.50

HAWKESBURY
RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 00518
CARELESS
Race 9, No. 6
Drew the rails barrier and did not get a lot of galloping room when resuming but closed fast late for sixth to Trafalgar at Warwick Farm. Careless has drawn off the track her there is not a lot of speed inside and it would be no surprise to see him roll across in front of the field, either leading or settling up on the pace. Given this scenario, Careless is good value.
TAB Fixed Odds: $7
NIC ASHMAN (Daily Telegraph). Form: 18102
HIPPARCHUS
Race 2, No. 6
Isn’t big odds but, for mine, it’s a two-horse race between this bloke and Duca Valentinois and that makes him good value.
TAB Fixed Odds: $3.50
STEPHEN ZAMMIT (Daily Telegraph). Form: 4x644
HANDFAST
Race 8, No. 2
Plenty to like about the way he rounded up his rivals to score at Randwick on April 9. John O’Shea looks to have a promising galloper here and the extra 1.5kg in this might help us get a little better price.
TAB Fixed Odds: $2.50
SHAYNE O’CASS (Sportsman). Form: 73087
BERRY DELICIOUS
Race 6, No. 8
Is a daughter of the mighty SA stalwart Blevic. The Jason Coyle trained 4YO has contested some quality races in her time and run well on multiple occasions. She was OK first-up in the Sapphire and she goes better second-up with 3s 0-3-0.
TAB Fixed Odds: $26
DARREN PRENDERGAST (SuperRacing). Form: 41954
AMMIRATA
Race 6, No. 6
Charged to the line to score a first-up win at Randwick. Has won four of past five starts, including the Belle Of The Turf Stakes at Gosford, and will be hard to beat again.
TAB Fixed Odds: $9.50

CAULFIELD
MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun). Form: 41876
ZAHSPEED
Race 2, No. 7
Aiming for four in a row. Won eased up at Sandown last start after four lengths win at Moonee Valley. Up in grade but will push forward and should dominate the race.
TAB Fixed Odds: $3.50
DANNY RUSSELL (Herald Sun) Form: 61821
DIVINE MR ARTIE
Race 6, No. 7
Struck more traffic than an LA bus last week. Quick back-up a good sign.
TAB Fixed Odds: $4.40
SIMON MOY (SuperRacing). Form: 80210
LOYALTY MAN
Race 7, No. 1
Failed at only attempt over the distance but don’t be deterred by that. Racing in tiptop form and can make it three straight here.
TAB Fixed Odds: $6
CHRIS VERNUCCIO (SuperRacing). Form: 81122
AMADEUS
Race 6, No. 5
Drops back to 1200m and has been freshened since splitting Silent Sedition and Odyssey Moon in the Bendigo Guineas, the former winning a Group 3 in Adelaide last week and the latter narrowly beaten by He’s Our Rokkii during The Championships. Craig Williams jumps back on board.
TAB fixed odds: $3.80
NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 21088
OLIVIER
Race 3, No. 4
Progressive galloper from the DK Weir stable resuming from a spell who has a good first-up record with a win and placing in three previous attempts. In well at the weights after the 3kg claim for Ben Allen.
TAB Fixed Odds: $8
MARKETS: TAB FIXED ODDS
MORPHETTVILLE
BEN SCADDEN (The Advertiser). Form: 56530
RIZIZ
Race 7, No. 1
Quality sprinter who’s had no luck from bad barriers at past couple. Led and stuck to his guns gamely behind Dylanson three starts ago and drawn to be prominent for a long way with Paul Gatt on board. Should be double-figure odds and looks great each-way hope.
TAB Fixed Odds: $11
LINCOLN MOORE (The Advertiser). Form: 33823
SERENADE
Race 6, No. 12
Promising filly who comes to Adelaide on the back of a dominant win at Ballarat.
Chased home Petits Fious two starts back and she would run favourite here.
Drawn well and looks great value.
TAB Fixed Odds: $5
