The owners of Hong Kong’s champion racehorse Beauty Generation have gifted $1 million to injured jockey Tye Angland and his family.

Angland expressed his gratitude to the Kwok family for their generous donation which he says will go into a trust for his three children.

Beauty Generation’s owners Dr Simon Kwok Siu-ming, his wife Eleanour and son Patrick, made their heartwarming pledge at a Hong Kong racing industry celebration on Wednesday night ahead of the season opener at Sha Tin on Sunday.

The Kwok family presented a $1 million cheque to Angland’s friend, Hong Kong’s champion jockey Zac Purton.

Angland told Sky Sports Radio on Thursday his “whole family is very grateful for what the Kwok family has put together for us.’’

“The million dollars is going to go into three different trusts for our children for their education and life expenses when they are a bit older, it is going to be locked away,’’ he said.

Angland and his wife Erin have three children Alexis, Addison and Rylan.

The popular jockey was left a quadriplegic after a fall from the Kwok-owned Go Beauty Go at Sha Tin late last year when making a one-off visit to Hong Kong.

Angland admitted his emotions have high and low ever since the accident but he was overwhelmed by the support from the racing industry.

“I have always been a positive person and I can’t change anything now so I have to make use of what I have got,” Angland said.

“I think your mindset is a lot stronger than a set of legs so I am going to be that positive person that I am and try and help some people along the way.

“I have never been the biggest form guy but I am still enjoying watching the races, I can’t leave the racing game now, it’s been too good to me.”
