All five jockeys involved in the Mornington Airbnb party will appear before the Victorian Racing Tribunal on Thursday morning.

Dates will be set to hear charges of alleged false or misleading evidence given to Stewards last week during an inquiry into the illegal party at a rental in Mornington on August 25.

It is alleged jockeys Jamie Kah, Ben Melham, Ethan Brown and apprentice Celine Gaudray misled Stewards last week when asked if anyone else attended the rowdy party.

After suspending the four jockeys for three months Stewards became aware Mark Zahra was also at the rogue gathering.

The Caulfield Cup winning jockey was hit with the same penalties as his fellow riders last Saturday.

The VRT also intend to set a date for the appeals by three of the jockeys against their initial sentences.

Premiership winner Jamie Kah and fellow riders Ben Melham, Ethan Brown, Mark Zahra and Celine Gaudray were all suspended for three months for ignoring stewards’ orders regarding Covid restrictions.

Brown, Melham and Zahra all lodged paperwork with the Victorian Racing Tribunal appealing the length of their initial bans, which will keep all five riders out of the spring carnival if they stand.

Kah and Gaudray declined the opportunity to appeal their penalties.

The Victorian Racing Tribunal is likely to expedite the appeals because the spring carnival has already started with the running of last Saturday’s $1m Memsie Stakes at Caulfield.

All five riders are undergoing 14 days quarantine before they can ride trackwork again.
