TRAINER John O'Shea and jockey Hugh Bowman are no strangers to big-race success and they will be using tomorrow's feature Royal Randwick meeting as a guide to their spring carnival chances.

O'Shea will saddle up promising fillies Romantic Moon and Bound For Earth in the Group 2 $175,000 Furious Stakes (1400m) while his Caulfield Cup entry Lightinthenite resumes in the Group 2 $175,000 Chelmsford Stakes (1600m).

Bowman has a full book of rides including Beaten Up in the Chelmsford, Twilight Royale in the Furious and Norzita contests the Group 3 $125,000 Tramway Stakes (1400m).

The trainer and jockey will also be popular with players in horse racing's premier fantasy game, Star Stable, which is back for spring.

It is a new and improved Star Stable with players having more control over their stables with the ability to trade trainers and Wildcards being new additions to the game.

The rules haven’t changed – the stable with the most money at the end of the carnival will be declared the winner.

Players select 10 horses to fill their stable with a virtual bank of $1million. Horse values can increase based on performance as the game progresses, so securing a big name early could be the difference between winning and losing at the business end of the carnival. The selection of a jockey has now been complimented with a trainer.

The prize for the Star Stable winner will be a trip for two to the world-famous Kentucky Derby in May 2014.

Over 40,000 people are expected to play Star Stable this Spring.

Registrations are now open at www.starstable.com.au and close on October 5 at 10:30am.
