RANDWICK

Track: Soft 5. Rail: True.

R1: DARLEY LONHRO PLATE (1000m)

Overview: Tricky race. Lady Laguna is two from two but she did find the fast lane at Rosehill before a break (the fence was on fire that day). The half-sister to Trekking, Plymstock did a good job to win on debut and she can only improve off that. Deep Expectation was wayward first-up and should strip fitter, while Tragara has trialled well enough to be competitive on debut.

BETTING ADVICE: Lady Laguna to win.

R2: TAB HIGHWAY HANDICAP (1200m)

Overview: One of the better Highways you will see here and this is super strong. Anethole, Commando Hunt, Ahead Start, Testator Silens, Participator, Billabong Isle and Casino Lord are all sure to have admirers here and the chances don’t end there.

Advice: Go wide in exotics. Anethole runs well again.

R3: MIDWAY HANDICAP (1600m)

Overview: Decent edition of the Midway. Icecrusher looks a good gamble at the odds and she looked the winner fresh before peaking on the run late. She will be fitter for that and can run well here. French Emperor has form around the right horses and does look the horse to beat off the fresh win. He is short enough all the same though. Lennon was brilliant last start and he might have turned the corner. He just has to reproduce that now.

BETTING ADVICE: 9, 5 and 8 look the three hopes but Icecrusher looks the early overs.

R4: RANVET SPRINT (1000m)

Overview: Good race for the speedsters. I loved the recent trial of Kallos and he looks to prep up well here. He will get a good run off a strong speed and should be there late. Mossman Gorge just go too far back fresh but I thought he was great late. Malkovich is a good horse but 62.5kg first-up isn’t an easy feat.

BETTING ADVICE: Kallos to win.

R5: DAVALI THOROUGHBREDS CUP (1600m)

Overview: Tough race this one. Yukon did enough fresh to suggest he can be in the finish out to a mile. Fleetwood Maca has done a decent job this prep and he maps to get a decent run. Deel With Me has been good from the back in two runs this prep and will appreciate getting to Randwick now. The Ritz can run on late.

BETTING ADVICE: Tough race. Deel With Me the value?

R6: INGLIS MILLENNIUM (1100m)

Overview: Decent edition of the Inglis Millennium. I liked the trial of Boldinho and he had no luck before a break in the Inglis Nursery. Sejardan has savaged the line in two runs to date but he hasn’t run outstanding time yet. El Padrino, Paris Dior and even Extravagant Star all have claims here.

BETTING ADVICE: Boldinho to win.

R7: VINERY HANDICAP (1300m)

Overview: I was taken by the run of Joviality fresh and she just might be back on track here. It took an in form Rule Of Law to deny her victory and that horse has won since. Steel Diamond was never going to be suited back to 1100m last start but this sets up well for her out to 1300m. Van Giz on the next line.

BETTING ADVICE: Joviality and Steel Diamond look the two.

R8: ESKIMO PRINCE STAKES (1200m)

Overview: Looks a lovely race for Paulele and he just loves Randwick. He is unbeaten here and is also a really good fresh horse. Converge has been trialling up like a very good horse and he looks the danger off those recent hit outs. It does look a race in two.

BETTING ADVICE: Paulele to win.

R9: TAB HANDICAP (1200m)

Overview: Silent Impact did a good job to win first-up over 1100m and the only query now is whether he is looking for a bit further than 1200m second-up. He looks a talented horse though and gets in well. Rustic Steel is building a nice record and should run well fresh, while Maotai and Fastconi at big odds can both run well.

BETTING ADVICE: Silent Impact the horse to beat. Fastconi can improve with the blinkers on.

R10: YARRAMAN PARK HANDICAP (1600m)

Overview: Good race to finish the day. Lackeen did a good job to overcome a slow tempo and score at this track and distance last start. He gets some weight relief and should run well. Through The Cracks copped a check mid race last start and just got too far back as a result. Frosty Rocks should lead these for a long way, while Purple Sector should appreciate the extra trip.

BETTING ADVICE: Lackeen to win.
