The Daily Telegraph’s racing expert Shayne O’Cass has analysed each race at Randwick Kensington for Wednesday’s races and found some value picks for punters.

BEST BET

AVADANE (Race 4, No.6)

Incredibly well bred NZ mare who was $26 to $31 at her Australian debut at Warwick Farm two weeks ago but was doing good things late. Always goes better second-up too.

NEXT BEST

XYLAROO (Race 1, No.10)

Turned out after an encouraging first campaign where he got back and ran on in all three 1100m runs. Purpose built for the 1400m first-up and trials have been ace.

VALUE

EASIFAR (Race 2, No.8)

Denise’s Joy descendant from the Chris Waller camp who seem to hold off Zanzidance quite easily in their trial; Zanzidance won 9-days later and is handy!

QUADDIE

Race 6: 1, 2, 9, 11

Race 7: 6, 7, 9, 12

RANDWICK KENSINGTON INSIDE MAIL - SHAYNE O’CASS

RACE 1

Xylaroo was bred by John Singleton. He also raced her dam Coco Kerringle, who was fourth in a Silver Slipper and Widden Stakes. This Chris Waller-trained filly got back and closed well in all three runs of here first campaign, all of them over 1100m. But she is a 1400m horse every day of the week. Darling Diamond comes through two very strong provincial races and is ready to peak now third run in. So Far Away was fancied last start and ran OK. Pretty Good is by Savabeel so is going to eat up the 1400m.

Bet: Xylaroo win

RACE 2

Easifar is an exciting filly from the Waller stable in the Debbie Kepitis colours. A daughter of Pride Of Dubai, Easifar’s third dam is the great Denise’s Joy. Easifar won a trial at Rosehill on September 15, beating Zanzidance, who won a race nine days later. Eight Diamonds will be a huge improver. The Team Hawkes filly had only bad luck when she debuted at Hawkesbury. On her trials, she is midweek standard at the very least. Newsreader is the one to beat on exposed form.

Bet: Easifar win; Eight Diamonds place; box trifecta 7, 8, 11

RACE 3

Wild Sheila is fit. How fit? She’s run over 10,950m at her past five starts and has not missed a place in any of them. The Kris Lees-trained mare was doing her best work late when a diminishing 1.7 lengths behind Prince Of Arragon. Four of the seven runners here all came through that race. One who didn’t is the Bart Cummings-bred Etheridge, who is back at the midweeks after three creditable performances on Saturdays. Bong Bong Cup winner Frenzied is primed for the 2400m.

Bet: Wild Sheila win

RACE 4

Kerrin McEvoy will ride Savabeel four-year-old mare Probabeel on Saturday. He is on a Savabeel four-year-old mare in the same colours called Avadane. A three-time winner in New Zealand, Avadane was $26 to $31 at her Australian debut in an 1100m race at Warwick Farm but went super to finish midfield. She’s not really a first-upper, either. Fitter and step up to 1250m suits. Hugely significant booking here on Salsonic. Hugh Bowman has only ridden him once when they came from last to win the Queensland Guineas.

Bet: Avadane win; exacta 6 to beat 9

RACE 5

Kentucky-born American Whiskey ran super at Warwick Farm two weeks ago over 1400m. Up to 1800m but is a son of a Melbourne Cup sire. Parry Sound brings together the Racing To Win/Private Steer combination of John O’Shea and Glen Boss. Boss was on the son of Pierro and Aqua D’Amore when he had ‘next time’ written all over him at Warwick Farm 14 days ago. Badoosh has been going super and is two starts for a win and a third at the trip. Highmaster got a Keagan Latham gem last start but was good.

Bet: American Whiskey win or, if scratched, Parry Sound win

RACE 6

Alchermes races in the colours of her third dam, Whisked, and her 14-time Group 1-winning son Tie The Knot. This Ron Quinton-trained mare has been well managed through the grades and was somewhat unlucky not to have finished in the placings at Canterbury first-up. Has the talent. Zero To Hundred blew them off the park on debut at Warwick Farm then 18 days later was beaten a nose in a Listed race at Eagle Farm. Good enough to win this and go on to better. Ditto California Salto, who was fifth to Rubisaki and Subpoenaed in the P.J. Bell.

Bet: Alchermes; box trifecta 1, 2, 9, 11

RACE 7

Invinciano was $31 into $21 when she resumed at Warwick farm 14 days ago and gave her backers a massive sight, finishing 0.8 of a length second to handy filly Joviality. The run was even better in light of her previous first-up performances and has won on the Kensington track. Acrophobic is a promising colt who ran a huge race first-up on that same day at Warwick Farm. J-Mac has a decision to make from that draw. Regimental Band could be the swooper here.

Bet: Invinciano each-way
