From the Waller yard, this mare fought on gamely for a narrow win over this track and distance on August 5. Made the running and grabbed right on the line for a photo second over 2400m at Rosehill on August 29. Has drawn well today and has James McDonald to do the steering, replacing the suspended Hugh Bowman. Looks very hard to hold out.

Backs up after a solid placing at Canterbury last week and Blake Shinn sticks, which gives great confidence to his claims. Tough nut to crack.

Race 1, No. 2

A 3YO sister to Golden Slipper winner and top sire Sebring and a half to the G2 Ajax winner Pureness. The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained filly was $3.90/$4 on debut at Kembla on Aug 15 where she bumped into River Wild, who ended-up winning by six-lengths with a very fast last 600m. Falkenberg was definitely the best of the rest and will likely take benefit from the run. Granted, River Wild failed in town next time at odds-on but we can’t hold Falkenberg responsible for that. Drawn out in 12 but it’s a straight run to one bend.

Strong front-running win at Sandown last start. Won over 1400m before and has two from two second-up. Ciaron Maher/Damien Oliver combo a bonus, with wide gate only drawback.

Exciting prospect. Returned from a spell with an easy all the way at Sandown which took her record to three wins from five starts. Drawn out but Damien Oliver sticks with her.

You have to wait to the last race but Coachella is an above average horse who is fitter for one run back from a spell when she found the line strongly after no luck in running. Her best is pretty good and she looks a good thing with the claim for in-form apprentice Emily Finnegan.
