WARWICK FARM
STEPHEN ZAMMIT (The Daily Telegraph)
CHAMPAGNE REIN
Race 6, No. 6
Locally prepared by Joe Pride, this gelding was just behind the placegetters when fourth at Warwick Farm on September 23. Atoned for that defeat with an impressive win over 1000m there on October 21. Promising galloper who can put two wins together here.
JOHN DAVIS (The Daily Telegraph)
LAYO LAYO
Race 5, No. 9
Was badly hampered by an unfair surface at her most start here, when horses found it difficult to make up ground from behind. Freshened and is great value. Stick with her.
SHAYNE O’CASS (The Sportsman)
GHISONI
Race 3, No. 6
Is by Lonhro out of two-time G2 winner and Golden Slipper placegetter Portillo. Wow. Her four trials dating back to January 15 have all been outstanding, In one of them, she made Vancouver and others look like bush maidens. She’s a class act from head to tail.
BENDIGO
MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun)
SEA SPRAY
Race 7, No. 2
Above average mare who ran on well at Moonee Valley last start. Looks well placed and has Ben Thompson, fresh from his World Apprenticeship Championship win aboard.
BALAKLAVA
LINCOLN MOORE (The Advertiser)
AMICONI ORIGINALE
Race 5, No. 1
Morphettville winner back in July before two good placings. Got back and worked to the line OK when favourite two starts back before again getting back over the 1250m when 5th behind Magnus Knight in town last time. Suited here over 1400m, McEvoy and Neilson combine and looks the horse to beat.
