HOT TIPS: WEEKEND BEST BETS
MOONEE VALLEY (Friday night)
DARYL TIMMS (Herald Sun). Form: 26283
JENNYFROMTHEBLOCK
Race 5, No. 6
Former Victorian horse now trained in Adelaide. Form last campaign was good and will sprint well fresh.
TAB Fixed Odds: $7.50
STABLE WATCH: THE INSIDE MAIL FOR RANDWICK
RANDWICK
RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 00
TURBULENT JET
Race 9, No. 3
Resumes from a let-up but he has run well fresh at the start of his past two campaigns, charging home from well back for second placings over the Rosehill 1200m course. A Randwick 1200m winner, Turbulent Jet is over the odds at $21.
TAB Fixed Odds: $21
NIC ASHMAN (Daily Telegraph). Form: 6x148
SMART AMEILA
Race 4, No. 3
Big run first-up and has improved. Should be challenging favouritism for mine.
TAB Fixed Odds: $5.50
STEPHEN ZAMMIT (Daily Telegraph). Form: 71812
PEEPING
Race 6, No. 4
Was my best bet last start but the big weight and being first-up cost me, when she was a game runner-up at Randwick. Much fitter now, has drawn a good gate and will go very close to atoning for that defeat.
TAB Fixed Odds: $3.80
JOHN DAVIS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 03008
ROCK STURDY
Race 8, No. 13
Has been taken along slowly with just the two quiet trials, since his narrow third placing in The Emirates last spring. Interestingly, connections have elected to have him sport blinkers and Fastnet Rock stock usually find a leg with the shades on.
TAB Fixed Odds: $11
SHAYNE O’CASS (Sportsman). Form: 43512
ZENALICIOUS
Race 4, No. 13
Has trialled twice — ran an easy third at her first one and then put it right up to Skyline favourite Telperion in the second one, bursting through late to win with a significant measure of class and quality. She was scratched from a much easier race on Wednesday at Rosehill and I take that as a good sign. Gate two and Winona Costin equals tick, tick.
TAB Fixed Odds: $35
DARREN PRENDERGAST (Superracing). Form: 04004
MY FAVOURITE
Race 9, No. 2
Former Hong Kong galloper flashed home late for fifth at first run since 2013. Clearly open to plenty of improvement and has Hugh Bowman on board.
TAB Fixed Odds: $6
NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 20809
HAYMAN
Race 2, No. 5
Looked super winning a Rosehill barrier trial on February 15 and can lead all the way at double figure odds and into Golden Slipper calculations.
TAB Fixed Odds: $9.50

CAULFIELD
MATT STEWART (Herald Sun). Form: 8x249
RADICAL
Race 1, No. 9
Too bad to be true at Colac after tough run. Previous form would have him right in this.
TAB Fixed Odds: $9.50
MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun). Form: 8x249
EGYPT
Race 3, No. 7
Sprinted home powerfully for second last week behind Don’t Doubt Mamma last week at Flemington in a stronger race with Perth star Perfect Reflection third. Only Chautauqua produced a faster last 200m. $6 looks nice value.
TAB Fixed Odds: $6
CHRIS VERNUCCIO (Superracing). Form: 15x21
TURN ME LOOSE
Race 6, No. 3
Excellent return in the Orr when his condition gave out in the last 100m. Goes better second up and should get a softer lead here.
TAB Fixed Odds: $3.20

DOOMBEN
NATHAN EXELBY (The Courier-Mail). Form: 4x180
WILD ‘N’ FAMOUS
Race 7, No. 11
Hasn’t lived up to the promise he showed in first couple of runs, but looks beautifully placed under these Plate conditions and out to 1350m looks another plus. Shouldn’t be too far off them from the draw and if he puts in, can prove too classy.
TAB Fixed Odds: $7
BEN DORRES (The Courier-Mail). Form: 24260
MR EPIC
Race 8, No. 3
Hasn’t lived up to the promise he showed in first couple of runs, but looks beautifully placed under these Plate conditions and out to 1350m looks another plus. Shouldn’t be too far off them from the draw and if he puts in, can prove too classy.
TAB Fixed Odds: $4.40
BRAD DAVIDSON (Gold Coast Bulletin). Form: 46786
SILENT DUKE
Race 6, No. 10
Loved the way this horse finished over this track and distance last start after copping a check at the start and the good gate gives him a sneaky chance in this open affair. There is plenty of speed and expect him to sit back midfield and sprout wings late. Sharpe Hussler looks the hardest to beat but the $26 on offer about Silent Duke looks a terrific each-way price.
TAB Fixed Odds: $21

MORPHETTVILLE
BEN SCADDEN (The Advertiser). Form: 56824
FASTCAR
Race 8, No. 3
Talented gelding with sound record this track. Only beaten three lengths behind Dylanson and Riziz last time and should be nearing peak fitness after couple of runs back from 12-month break. Expect him to be fighting out the finish.
TAB Fixed Odds: $6
