Montefilia gets a slice of history in Spring Champion Stakes
Classy filly Montefilia backed up her Group 1 Flight Stakes victory with a strong win to salute in the Spring Champion Stakes at Randwick.

The David Payne-trained Montefilia has become the first filly to complete the Flight Stakes and Spring Champion Stakes double after running down Lion’s Roar in the Group 1 at Randwick on Saturday.
The Chris Waller-trained Bucharest was third while grey galloper Love Tap finished fourth.
Jason Collett was the winning rider, giving the talented hoop a second win for the day.
