What time does the Melbourne Cup start?

The Melbourne Cup is nearly here — but what time exactly will the hugely-anticipated race at Flemington stop the nation?

It’s the race that stops the nation but what time should you pause your day?

Whether you’re flicking on the TV, tuning into the radio or watching on your mobile phone, you don’t want to be late to the Melbourne Cup party on Tuesday November 2.

The race will start at Flemington at 3pm AEDT. For the rest of the country, that means:

Sydney — 3pm

Hobart — 3pm

ACT — 3pm

Perth — 12pm

Darwin — 1.30pm

Brisbane — 2pm

Adelaide — 2.30pm
