Punters’ seriously wild Melbourne Cup antics caught on camera

Let’s take a look back at what happens when the beers and bubbly are flowing well before midday and there are cameras everywhere.

It’s that time of year again.

The Melbourne Cup will be run at 3pm today — the one day of the year where it seems socially acceptable to walk around barefoot, hop into a bin to impress your mates or dive headfirst into a pool of mud in your best Chinos.

After no crowds were permitted at last year’s race because of Covid concerns, Cup Day might look a little different again this year.

10,000 vaccinated punters will be permitted to attend Flemington and will be required to wear masks, with food and drinks served to tables only.
