JAMIE Kah’s dream of riding in the $7.3m Lexus Melbourne Cup is over after Jaameh was beaten in today’s $300,000 Lexus Stakes at Flemington.

South Australian jockey Kah, 22 was booked to ride Jaameh, well down the Melbourne Cup order of entry, for the Lindsay Park stable if the horse was to secure his last minute place in Tuesday’s race that stops the nation by winning on Saturday.

Jaameh was held up behind rivals on straightening before finishing third in the Lexus behind English raider A Prince Of Arran.

A delay in the start of the Lexus meant Kah was returning to scale at Morphettville where she rode Fighting Dragon into fourth place for David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig’s Lindsay Park stable.
