It's Sydney racing's biggest day of the spring with two wide-open Group 1 events.
In the $500,000 Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) Blake Shinn has endured an arduous week of training to get down to 54kg to ride race favourite Toydini.
Trainer Guy Walter has two chances at the race with Toydini and last-start Group 1-winning mare Streama, but must overcome leading trainers Gai Waterhouse (Ashokan, Ecuador and Spurtonic) and Chris Waller (Boban, Riva De Lago and Sacred Falls) if he's to be successful.
At Flemington, the $500,000 Group 1 Turnbull Stakes (2000m) is arguably the race of the spring so far with Melbourne Cup favourite Puissance De Lune taking on Cup second favourite Fiorente, boom four-year-old Super Cool and a host of talented stayers.
