Horse racing tips for Randwick, Flemington and Eagle Farm

Last week … Four winners. Glenn McFarlane delivered with his value bet, steering punters into Trekking ($10) in the Goodwood. Simon Moy was also on the money with his value tip, Sikorsky ($3.20). Ray Thomas and Darren Prendergast banked another winner with Fituese ($1.75), which was heavily backed on raceday, while Nathan Exelby was in the winners’ circle first-up after a break with Soxagon ($1.65).

He has been placed third at his two recent runs over the Kensington 1800m course including his luckless third to stablemate Yonkers when he ran out of room at a vital stage in the straight. The step up to 2000m on the big Randwick track should be ideal.

ARCHEDEMUS (Race 8, No. 3 — $3.50)
He’s got a great strike-rate and was fantastic first-up and has won better races than this. The wet track is also in his favour and he’s ready to fire.

He was super impressive winning last start. Onward and upwards from here for this progressive type.

Rattled home first-up for second in the Wagga Town Plate. Is unbeaten on soft tracks and has a good record at Randwick.

He finished off strongly to run second at Caulfield last start over 1800m. He’ll be better suited at Flemington and he’s ready to win.

Highly impressive colt who stormed home to win the Showdown and could be a star in the making.

Promising type and should have the measure of these. Only concern is he will go back from his inside draw.

Progressive galloper who comes into this race on the back of consecutive impressive victories in easier grade. Steps up to Saturday racing for the first time and is worth sticking with him as he races through the grades

Has always promised to be a handy horse, but might be ready to deliver now after extraordinary first up win where he was stopped in his tracks a couple of times but still managed to win. Out to 1200m suits and a repeat will see him hard to hold out again.
