World’s sexiest jockey Leonna Mayor finds a new career

Our experts give you an early shot at finding a winner around the nation in the major races this weekend.

Last week … Three winners. NewsRacing tipster Simon Moy kept the winners flowing with his value bet, Ididitforlove ($3.80), saluting. Nathan Exelby snared back-to-back best bets with Garibaldi ($1.80), while Jett Hatton was spot on with Ligulate ($2).

Saturday’s races: CAULFIELD (9 races, start 12.55pm), MORPHETTVILLE (9 races, 1.06pm), ROSEHILL GARDENS (9 races, 1.15pm), SUNSHINE COAST (9 races, 1.23pm).

CAULFIELD

GILBERT GARDINER (Herald Sun) Form: 51213

AUSSIE NUGGET (Race 2, No. 6 — $3.30)

Just got too far back last start. Up in weight and Jamie Kah goes on. Ready to win.

Value bet: MISS DIVINE EM (Race 1, No. 1 — $6)

BRAD WATERS (Racenet) Form: 83x23

LONG ARM (Race 7, No. 1 — $4.40)

Beaten favourite at Flemington last time out but can hit back hard over the 2400m trip.

Value bet: DAWSON DIVA (Race 9, No. 10 — $10)

GLENN McFARLANE (Herald Sun) Form: 2642x

DEFIBRILLATE (Race 9, No. 3 — $2.60)

Chasing a hat-trick of wins with good form references, having knocked off the in-form Paradee on Boxing Day.

Value bet: FLIT (Rosehill, Race 7, No. 6 — $7.50)

CHRIS VERNUCCIO (NewsRacing). Form: 81336

HASSELTOFF (Race 3, No. 3 — $3.10)

He didn’t get a clear crack in the straight until it was too late at Flemington and should have finished closer. The start before he was dynamic over 1700m and based on that run the 1800m shouldn’t be a problem.

Value bet: HIDDEN LEGEND (Race 6, No. 2 — $6.50)

SIMON MOY (NewsRacing). Form: x5813

DEFIBRILLATE (Race 9, No. 3 — $2.60)

Absolutely flying and gate only factor which could bring him undone.

Value bet: HIDDEN LEGEND (Race 6, No. 2 — $7)

NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: x5142

DEFIBRILLATE (Race 9, No. 3 — $2.60)

Classy galloper who comes into this having won seven of his 11 starts and is shooting for a third straight win on the back of a dominant last-start Flemington victory. Worth sticking with as he races through the grades.

Value bet: PAPERBOY (Race 6, No. 6 — $10)

ROSEHILL GARDENS

RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegraph) Form: 9272x

MASKED CRUSADER (Race 9, No. 7 — $2)

Went winless in three starts during the spring when plagued by wet tracks and bad luck in running. Promising sprinter with loads of talent and looked very sharp winning a Rosehill barrier trial two weeks ago. He should be able to settle with cover off a hot tempo and then put his superior acceleration to good use.

Value bet: ZETHUS (Race 3, No. 4 — $8)

MATT JONES (Daily Telegraph) Form: 82164

AL MAH HAHA (Race 1, No. 1 — $2)

How well is this horse placed here? He’s a Stakes performer and is back to a Highway and only carries 59kg. This is his to lose.

Value bet: BAZOOKA (Race 5, No. 9 — $17)

STEPHEN BRASSEL (National Racing Editor) Form: 33123

MASKED CRUSADER (Race 9, No. 7 — $2)

Has always promised plenty but now set to deliver. They don’t trial any better than he did recently at Rosehill and gets a barrier and 3.5kg weight advantage over his main rival Big Parade.

Best value: FLIT (Race 7, No. 6 — $7.50)

DARREN PRENDERGAST (NewsRacing) Form: 3213x

GREAT HOUSE (Race 4, No. 8 — $4)

Chris Waller import by Galileo makes his Sydney debut after finishing solid third at Flemington. Will relish step up to 2000m.

Value bet: FLIT (Race 7, No. 6 — $7.50)

JETT HATTON (Racenet). Form: 25x11

FLIT (Race 7, No. 6 — $7.50)

I’ve always thought Flit is at her best over sprint trips and up against a field of competitors that will improve as they get over more ground, she looks the logical choice. She blitzed a quality field first-up over this trip in the Light Fingers last year and can’t believe we are getting $7.50.

Value bet: STARLA (Race 5, No. 1 — $9.50)

LATEST BETTING: TAB FIXED ODDS

SUNSHINE COAST

NATHAN EXELBY (Courier-Mail). Form: 16311

SAMBRO (Race 8, No. 2 — $4 place)

He’s not the most prolific winner, but he strikes a place better than 50 per cent of the time and conditions look made to order for him here. This is by far the weakest race he’s taken on in a good while and he gets the barrier to enjoy a sweet run. Provided he jumps, he should give a huge sight and the $4 place is super appealing.

Value bet: MAGIC CONQUEROR (Race 7, No. 1 — $15)

LATEST BETTING: TAB FIXED ODDS
