Six months after being dropped by struggling A-League's’ side Brisbane Roar teenager Rylan Brownlie has signed a deal with English Premier League side Crystal Palace.

Brownlie the 18-year-old son of Roar player Royce, played just 11 games during his first season with the A-League’s side.

He scored one goal and an assist – with the goal making him the club’s youngest ever ALM’s goalscorer.

The dynamic striker, was let go as part of a clean out in the off-season by “mutual agreement”.

Brownlie reportedly headed over to Palace to train in December.

His agent, former Socceroo Craig Moore who also played for Palace, played a large role in securing the deal.

Roar have struggled to perform this season and sit on the bottom of the A-League’s ladder, with just one win this season.

Crystal Palace confirmed Brownlie would join its academy set up for the remainder of the season and future season as well.

“It feels amazing, absolutely amazing,” Brownlie said.

“The facilities here are incredible and I just want to get some minutes and start scoring goals.”

Crystal Palace Academy Director Gary Issott said they had watched the teen in action for Brisbane Roar.

“He’s an attacking player who can play anywhere along the front three and will feature as part of the under-21s side.”

He isn’t the first Australian to link up with Crystal Palace. Mile Jedinak, Tony Popovic, Nick Carle, Kevin Muscat Craig Foster, Carl Veart, Craig Moore, Shaun Murphy, Anthony Danze, Nicky Rizzo and Steve Mautone have all pulled on the jersey during their careers.
