Drug testing blitz on Chinese swimmers revealed

An eye-opening level of extra scrutiny is being applied to the Chinese swim team ahead of the Paris Olympic Games, despite the acquittal of 23 Chinese swimmers who tested positive to a prohibited heart drug prior to Tokyo.

Kaylee McKeown again challenged the world record line for the third time this week, in the 200 metres backstroke, but there is also race in the court of public opinion that she has joined contested with her Australian teammate Ariarne Titmus. And Cody Simpson too little, too late.

‘Very taxing’: Titmus says no to social media

Mass messages of support following a world record demonstrate the love Australia has for Ariarne Titmus. But for the 23-year-old Olympic champion, such support creates noise and a day – even a week of competition – without social media is no bad thing.
