Schedule for Day 14 of the Tokyo Olympics

Australia’s eyes will be on our golden beach volleyball girls as they headline a huge day of action in Tokyo on Friday.

Tokyo Olympics have been ‘incredible’ for Australia

The Olympics might be slowly approaching its end, but the competition is only just starting to heat up for a bunch of Aussies in gymnastics, race walking, boxing, karate and volleyball.

Starting early on Day 14 of the Tokyo Games will be the men’s 50km race walk, with 30-year-old Melbourne local Rhydian Cowley set to fly the flag for Australia at 6.30am.

The third round of women’s golf will kick off shortly after at 8.30am, as Aussie women Hannah Green and Minjee Lee continue their campaign for a medal.

Lidiia Iakovleva will contend for a spot in the finals in the rhythmic gymnastics all-around event at 11.20am before Australia faces off against the US in the women’s beach volleyball.

Mariafe Artacho del Solar and Taliqua Clancy will compete for a gold medal in what’s sure to be an action-packed game at 12.30pm.

Aussie lightweight boxer Harry Garside will later go up against Cuba’s Andy Cruz in the semi-final round after defeating Zakir Safiullin from Kazakhstan on Tuesday.

Young diving duo Sam Fricker and Cassiel Rousseau will then be competing against each other in the preliminary round of the men’s 10m platform diving, before fellow Aussie Kaarle McCulloch competes in the track cycling sprint qualifier.

Tsuneari Yahiro has a huge afternoon lined up, with him set to compete in the 75kg men’s kumite against Italy, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Germany.

Australia’s artistic women’s swim team will also perform their technical routine at 8.30pm, before Mackenzie Little, Kathryn Mitchell and Kelsey-Lee Barber compete in the javelin throw final at 9.50pm.

Jessica Hull and Linden Hall will also be contending for a medal in the women’s 1500m final at 10.50pm.
