Controversial Olympian Peter Bol has joined Channel 7’s extreme reality show SAS Australia alongside two of sport’s biggest names.

Boxer Anthony Mundine and former Roosters and Kangaroos captain Boyd Cordner will join the middle-distance runner, who finished fourth in the 800m at the last Olympics, on the show.

Bol signed a two-show deal with the network, worth almost $500,000, while his career was at risk in February after an A sample positive drug test.

The agreement was for SAS Australia and an appearance on Channel 7’s current affairs show Spotlight.

The 29-year-old was stood down by Athletics Australia but later cleared in his B sample of using banned substances.

Bol, Mundine and Cordner have left Australia for filming in an undisclosed country.

Former NRL star Sam Burgess won the show last year.

Mundine and Cordner have been training hard for the series.

The former boxer was recently seen running the Wanda sandhills in steel cap boots to get himself ready.

Cordner recently travelled to Queenstown in New Zealand with the Roosters squad to participate in a pre-season training camp with the players.

He competed in every task.

Cordner, who was forced into NRL retirement from head injuries, passed his pre-show medical.

The three athletes will join actor Craig McLachlan on the show which will air later this year.

On Spotlight on Sunday night Bol says he was robbed of winning Young Australian Of The Year by the leaking of his A sample test in January.

“At just a perfect time, just a few days before the Young Australian of the Year awards... I mean, let’s get one thing straight, we were never guaranteed to win Young Australian of the Year but... strong contender,” Bol said.

“I mean... being named Young West Australian of the Year was just, it’s quite inspiring being around so many great people.

“And I think we were robbed of that.”

Bol pointed the finger at Athletics Australia and Sports Integrity Australia.

“Well, let’s put it this way... it’s a process of elimination,” Bol said.

“A leak happened somewhere there.

“And I’m 100 per cent certain my team did not leak anything.”

Bol’s provisional ban has been lifted following an atypical finding in his B sample but the investigation by Sport Integrity Australia is still ongoing.

“I have absolutely nothing to hide,” Bol said.

“I’m not running to be the best in the world anymore. I’m running to clear my name.”
