In a 3-nil loss to Germany to open their Paris campaign, which may haunt the Matildas for the rest of the Olympic Games, no player rated more than seven and just two with a rating of six and above.

Matildas’ coach Tony Gustavsson could only warrant a rating of three.

His decision to put Cortnee Vine upfront might follow him around this tournament. It was a mostly untested move that didn’t pay off.
