Nathan Cleary has shared his support after the Matilda’s nail-biting win over Zambia.
The Matilda’s were down by three goals before a miraculous comeback in the second half of the game.
Steph Catley and Michelle Heyman led the charge for the turn around, with Australians no doubt delighted to see the beloved team stay in the game.
Cleary, who is dating Mary Fowler, watched the early morning game, sharing a photo on his Instagram story on Monday morning.
“Comeback,” the photo was captioned, with the clapping hands emoji.
The Penrith Panthers player is no stranger to a comeback, having played a hand in securing Penrith’s victory over the Brisbane Broncos during last year’s NRL grand final.
Former Socceroos player Craig Foster took to social media to call the performance “unbelievable”.
“You beauty! Craziest game ever. Gutsiest performance. Talk about ‘never say die’,” he wrote to X.
The win comes days after the Matildas suffered a devastating 3-0 loss to Germany.
However the team remain in the game for an Olympic medal, with their next game set for Thursday against USA.
