WAS it the midst of St George’s record-breaking 11-game streak? How about Benny Elias’ crossbar field goal? Or was it the heroics of Andrew Johns, Scott Sattler or Sam Burgess? Don’t discount the Benji Marshall flick-pass, Johnathan Thurston field goal or the most wild grand final of our generation the 1973 clash between Manly and Cronulla.
The Men of League Foundation in conjunction with The Daily Telegraph are giving you the chance to vote on the best grand final in rugby league history.
The grand finals were chosen by an elite panel but now the public will have the final say. Fans will vote for their favourite grand final with the first, second, and third most popular grand final to be unveiled at the Men of League gala dinner at the Westin on Wednesday August 15.

The grand finals are;
— 1955: South Sydney vs Newtown — A replay of the 1954 decider, the Rabbitohs had to battle on without Clive Churchill and Greg Hawick with South Sydney winning 12-11.
— 1965: St George Dragons vs South Sydney Rabbitohs — A crowd of 78,056 watched St George win their 10th consecutive premiership beating South Sydney 12-8.
— 1973: Manly Warringah Sea Eagles v Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks — Regarded as the most violent game in rugby league history. Bob Fulton led Manly to a 10-7 win with two tries.
— 1981: Parramatta Eels v Newtown Jets: The Jack-Gibson coached Eels won their first grand final beating the Jets 20-11.
— 1989: Canberra Raiders v Balmain Tigers: The match that had everything. A missed Elias field goal, a bizarre penalty, strange bench rotation eventually to Tigers heartache as the Raiders snatched a 19-14 for their first title.
— 1997: Newcastle Knights v Manly Warringah Sea Eagles: A Darren Albert try in the dying stages gave the Knights a historic 22-16 win against Manly in the split competition.
— 2003: Penrith Panthers v Sydney Roosters: A Sattler try-saving tackle on a flying Todd Byrne gave the Panthers to an 18-6 win against the Roosters.
— 2005: Wests Tigers v North Queensland Cowboys: A Marshall flick pass set the tone for the most unlikeliest premiers in recent years with the Tigers beating the Cowboys 30-16.
— 2014: South Sydney Rabbitohs v Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs: Burgess played on with a fractured cheekbone suffered in the opening tackle of the game. He led the Rabbitohs to a 30-6 win ending the club’s 43-year-drought.
— 2015: North Queensland Cowboys v Brisbane Broncos: The most dramatic of finishes when Kyle Feldt scored late before Thurston missed a sideline conversion to win. He nailed a golden point field goal following a Ben Hunt error for the Cowboys first title with a 17-16 win.
