Titans take latest covid hit in NRL Pre Season

The plan for Curtis Scott to join the Eels for the pre-season has been abandoned, with Parramatta and the NRL agreeing that the troubled star should not train until his latest criminal matter is resolved.

In a career-threatening blow that is set to force him to sell at least one investment property and look for a full-time job, the NRL has ruled out registering his contract with the Eels until he faces court.

Scott has also been told he will not be able to attend Eels training.

He was set to resume his career, with the NRL approving a train-only plan just a day before he was charged with four historical counts of assault following allegations made by ex-partner Tay-Leiha Clark.

News Corp has learnt that no assault allegations were made to the NRL during two separate investigations that were conducted by the league following complaints made by Ms Clark.

The NRL launched its first investigation in 2019 after Ms Clark alleged Scott was withholding clothes and other possessions that she had left in his Melbourne apartment prior to their split.

The matter was resolved by way of a financial settlement.

It is understood the Melbourne Storm made the payment to Ms Clark before deducting the full – and undisclosed – amount from Scott’s contract payments.

NRL sources have confirmed that they have spoken to Ms Clark many times since 2019 and that they were not aware of any assault claims until this week.

Scott was arrested at Barden Ridge midway through a golf game on Wednesday and charged with two counts of intentionally choking a person with recklessness; two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, stalk or intimidate; and three counts of common assault.

It is understood that Scott and Ms Clark attended Miranda police station late last year to make allegations about each other following a verbal exchange that occurred on the street.

Scott alleged that Ms Clark confronted him while he and his new partner were walking towards a Miranda park to play tennis. The police have not taken any legal action against Ms Clark.
