The Wests Tigers have suffered a massive blow with star recruit Jarome Luai set to miss Saturday’s game against the Broncos if he accepts a one-match ban for a high tackle during the loss to the Warriors.
The halfback was placed on report but wasn’t sent to the sin bin for a tackle on Edward Kosi that forced the Warriors winger from the field for a head injury assessment that he passed.
The match review committee has hit Luai with a grade 2 careless high tackle charge, with the four-time premiership winner risking a two-week suspension if he fights the charge and loses.
It would be a big loss for the Tigers who would have gone 3-1 if they’d held on against the Warriors, with Luai also appearing to battle through a left arm injury during Sunday’s game.
The Warriors hit the front late on, thanks to a penalty goal from Metcalf!

There’s better news for the club, with Alex Seyfarth escaping with a $1000 fine for his high shot on Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad that ultimately decided the game when Luke Metcalf slotted the ensuing penalty goal from long range.
The Warriors fullback stayed down long enough for the Bunker to get involved but then didn’t leave the field for a HIA, with Marshall clearly unimpressed when asked about some important calls in the final stages of the contest.
“You were watching the game, you write whatever you think,” Marshall said after the game.
“I don’t want to do what Ricky (Stuart) did and risk getting fined and talk about the ref because we’re not allowed to so I won’t bring it up.
“I don’t think we are (allowed to talk about decisions). There’s nothing more to say, if you were there watching you know.”
