Watch: The shocking errors in Wests Tigers loss that triggered furious Des Hasler spray

Des Hasler had numerous reasons to blast the Titans after their shocking loss to Wests Tigers but there was one in-game moment which triggered the epic double spray. WATCH the vision.

This is the moment that set besieged Gold Coast Titans coach Des Hasler on the path to one of the NRL’s great dressing room sprays.

Hasler was captured blasting a group of Titans players in the aftermath of Sunday’s 21-20 loss to the Wests Tigers at Leichhardt Oval.

The Fox League dressing room camera only captured Hasler’s second eruption as he demanded the players retreat from the showers after hearing laughing and joking.

The veteran coach felt his players should have been hurting more after such a shocking defeat.

The earlier post-game tirade Hasler launched at his entire team wasn’t televised.

The one-point defeat was the culmination of a bundle of errors, mistakes and stupidity from a Titans team hurtling towards a third wooden spoon.

Hasler could do little but watch on from the away team’s coaches’ box at a performance that was the NRL’s equivalent of Fawlty Towers.

There was a number of mistakes that crippled the Titans, including an inexcusable shot clock violation, but one was particularly difficult for Hasler to cop.

In the 45th minute and with the Titans leading 14-12, fullback AJ Brimson throws an errant pass to no-one 20m from the Tigers’ line on the third tackle.

The ball rolls between left side combo Brian Kelly and Phil Sami and goes into touch.

Cameras capture Sami and Brimson exchanging gestures and appearing to smile before cutting to Hasler, who picks up his walkie-talkie and unloads to a Titans staffer on the sideline.

“Des Hasler is blowing up deluxe,” commentator Cooper Cronk observes.

Sami was later one of the players in the crosshairs of Hasler while he was in the showers, emerging with nothing but a towel around his waist.

The former Queensland Origin winger has been told he won’t be re-signed by the Titans beyond 2026 and is eyeing a move to the Perth Bears.

Titans players were told to complete their recovery routines after Hasler’s first post-match spray.

But the coach didn’t like what he could hear and see in the showers and hauled Moeaki Fotuaika, Alofiana Khan-Pereira, David Fifita, Klese Haas and Sami out for another blast.

Club owners Rebecca and Brett Frizelle make a beeline for the exit as Hasler begins to unload.

A two-time title winner at Manly, Hasler is staring at the prospect of collecting the NRL’s wooden spoon in what may be his final season as a head coach.

He will bring up his 500-game milestone against the Warriors in Auckland on Saturday in what could be his last match in charge of the Titans.

Titans prop Moeaki Fotuaika said the team wanted to get a win for Hasler in his big game after the Leichhardt horror show.

“That’s added a lot of motivation to get the win,” he said.

“It was disappointing to get so close (against the Tigers). It’s a tough one to take.

“You can imagine what the feeling is like in the sheds after a game like that.

“It’s about competing and staying together as a group, not only on the field but off it.

“These times really test you as a team and club. It’s easy to be disconnected and fall away from it.

“It’s going to challenge us as a team.”

Even a win in New Zealand could be too little, too late for Hasler.

His stint at the Titans may not be remembered for much on the field but his Leichhardt antics won’t be forgotten.
