These are the emerging players ready to lead Queensland’s four NRL clubs into the future, including the son of a four-time Broncos premiership-winner.

Queensland has long punched above its weight in the NRL and State of Origin, with the Sunshine State producing an endless line of rugby league stars.

And that doesn’t look like stopping any time soon, with four NRL clubs in the state now helping develop the next generation of talent as the fight for young guns intensifies.

The Brisbane Broncos have long been a development club and the Dolphins have hit the ground running, establishing an impressive junior base to provide the NRL’s newest team for years to come.

The Gold Coast Titans have fixed up their junior development programs and are reaping the rewards while the North Queensland Cowboys continue to find exciting youngsters.

Here is the top 20 NRL prospects for 2024 and beyond coming through Queensland’s four clubs.

DOLPHINS

The Dolphins haven’t wasted any time assembling a junior base that will provide the NRL team with talent for years to come. Recruitment chief Peter O’Sullivan has placed a big emphasis on getting the Dolphins’ development systems in place and has done a superb job in securing some of the state’s top talent amid fierce competition and landing some promising recruits from interstate.

NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS

After some lean seasons, the Cowboys have got themselves back into an NRL premiership window and are determined to stay there. Recruitment manager Dane Campbell has been busy securing the best prospects in the region and setting up a development pathway at the only NRL club north of Redcliffe. The Cowboys have a system which sees a Young Guns group that progresses to train-and-replacement and the development list before the NRL top 30. The first generation of Young Guns have started to filter into the NRL this season and there’s more to come.

BRISBANE BRONCOS

The Broncos have long regarded themselves as a development club and that’s not going to change any time soon with some outstanding prospects on the verge of the NRL. Recruitment boss Simon Scanlan was in charge of junior development for a long time and now oversees Brisbane’s overarching list development strategy. He wants to ensure Brisbane is developing young talents into long-term quality NRL players.

GOLD COAST TITANS

The Titans have made a huge effort in recent years to take control of the fertile Gold Coast region which was pilfered by rival clubs for a long time. The creation of the Future Titans program has started to yield dividends for the club and the Titans are expecting to blood more local products in the NRL over the coming years following the recent debuts of players like Alofiana Khan-Pereira, Jojo Fifita, Jayden Campbell and Keano Kini.
