NORTH Queensland coach Neil Henry feels like a broken record.
The Cowboys had somehow overcame the setback of four crucial video referee decisions against them, but still surrendered to a heart-breaking 22-20 loss to the Wests Tigers last night with a stunning try to winger David Nofoaluma in the 78th minute.
"It's a bit of a broken record, where you just don't get over the line in tight games," Henry said.
"We have done that four or five times this year.
"We have to start winning or our season starts going out the back door pretty rapidly."
The loss dropped the Cowboys to a 4-7 record as they prepare to lose their rep stars to Origin.
MATCH CENTRE: Tigers v Cowboys
A knock-on at the play the ball by centre Brent Tate gifted the Tigers field position in the final five minutes and the cellar dwellers took the opportunity and claimed a memorable win at the death to snap a club record seven-game losing streak.
The Cowboys had fought back from 18-10 to a 20-18 lead and kept pushing for the converted try buffer, but were denied three times in four minutes by video referees Chris Ward and Luke Patten.
Winger Ashley Graham and Thurston were both deemed to not have grounded the ball while centre Kane Linnett bobbled an attempt to score off a Thurston kick in the 68th minute.

Henry was equally furious about overturned decisions by the video referees in the first half that gave Benji Marshall a try and denied Graham's attempt in the corner that were deemed worthy of four points by the on-field officials.
Marshall appeared to lose the ball but was then awarded a try after a lengthy delay.
"You think if they have to watch it that many times and come up with an over-ruling, there must be an element of doubt that they can't see it straight away," Henry said.
"The body of evidence has to over-rule the on-field officials' decision.
"Is it crucial in the wash up, yeah, it's certainly important."
Cowboys skipper Matt Scott said his men were guilty of throwing the match away.
"We did enough to lose it," Scott said.
"We are finding ways to lose games."
Compounding the loss for the Cowboys is a medial knee ligament injury to second rower Gavin Cooper that could sideline him for up to four weeks.
