Aussie superstar The Kid Laroi kicked off his pre-game performance to thunderous applause.
Sydney-born Laroi, wearing a white tracksuit with the words “Watch this!” in black on the back, stepped out form the shadow of the stadium, on to the field and up to the stage as he began his set with track “Baby I’m Back”.
Laroi stripped off to a cut-off tshirt and white pants but kept his blacked-out sunglasses on as he began a medley of his hit songs including “GIRLS”, “Stay” and a cover of INXS track “Never Tear Us Apart”.
Fans are never shy when it comes to their opinion of the Grand Final pre-game performance, but many quickly took to social media to praise the ARIA award-winning 21-year-old’s performance.
“Kid Laroi was fantastic. Best I’ve seen at this event in years,” one wrote on X.
“He was incredible, well done,” another wrote.
But many also complained the smoke machine, fireworks and lights had detracted from his vocals.
