As the Titans slumped to their worst start in the their short history, Ashley Taylor showed his confidence is at an all-time low with the final play of the game. Here’s the five things we learned from the match.

1. Taylor has lost his touch

Million dollar man Ash Taylor needs to find his form again after the club plummeted to a new low. Taylor seems to lack confidence or is wary of just taking chances but the 24-year-old once again failed to live up to his potential. He was caught with the ball on the last tackle during the crucial final minutes which epitomised his current state.

2. Titans can’t control the game

The Titans need to fix their concentration during matches after falling out of the match once again this year. They had a 16-0 lead in the opening quarter but let in 22 unanswered points through costly errors and ill-discipline.

3. Long may he Rein

Mitch Rein continues to solidify himself as the club’s first-choice dummy-half. Coach Garth Brennan faces a selection headache with the impending return of regular hooker Nathan Peats but Rein has been one of the Titans’ most impressive this year around the ruck. His dummy-half runs split open opposition defences with ease.

4. Have a little faith in us

Brennan should not lose faith in his last minute reshuffle. The coach started rookie Jesse Arthars in at right centre while pushing Tyrone Peachey to the bench. It may not have paid immediate dividends but it’s the best way to use Peachey’s versatility as he looked dangerous against a tired defensive line.

5. Bash brothers ready for Origin

Take note Kevvie Walters – Jarrod Wallace and Jai Arrow are itching for an Origin call up. The two forwards continue to dominate in a losing Titans side. They both ran for 171m and 180m and made 46 tackles between them.
