DUMPED Gold Coast Titans coach Neil Henry is embroiled in legal action with the NRL over his termination payout of more than $400,000.
In an almost identical position to Des Hasler at the Canterbury Bulldogs, Henry has hired lawyers to negotiate his leaving entitlements after being originally told he would get nothing.
His dispute is with the NRL who now own the Titans.
A spokesman for the NRL said negotiations were ongoing.
“We hope it will be resolved as soon as possible,” the spokesman said.
The Daily Telegraph understands that after being told he would get nothing, Henry has now been offered $100,000 — about a quarter of his contract.
Henry was on holidays in Bali when contacted on Monday.
“As it is still in the negotiation stage, I would prefer not to comment,” Henry said.
He said he was still unsure about any possible roles in the NRL next year as an assistant coach.
The Daily Telegraph can reveal the Titans and the NRL made a scathing assessment of Henry’s performance this season before he was axed with two rounds to go.
They were particularly critical of his inability to hold down a relationship with superstar fullback Jarryd Hayne.
Fortunately for the NRL, Henry was on one of the more budget coaching contracts.

He was not even on half of what the likes of Craig Bellamy, Wayne Bennett and Des Hasler are on.
The treatment of Henry and Hasler following their dismissal is why moves are afoot to create a coaches’ association similar to the RLPA.
It is the brainchild of Roosters coach Trent Robinson.
“It is a bit like the Players Association but it is the coaches having a common voice and working together,” Robinson said recently.
“This is probably the first small step in understanding what it is about and how it might help coaches.”
The Titans will continue their coaching interviews for next year when they meet axed Blues coach Laurie Daley.
