Hundreds of Queensland footy fans will score free tickets to cheer on Todd Payten’s side in Friday night’s elimination final in Sydney after an 11th hour special promotion.

Youi Insurance, in partnership with the NRL, will provide 500 complimentary seats to Friday’s sudden death final against Cronulla.

To claim the tickets, fans must email youiqueenslander@nrl.com.au and prove they are a member of a Queensland NRL club or a fan of the Queensland Maroons State of Origin team.

Successful applicants will receive two tickets to the match.

Cowboys legend Johnathan Thurston encouraged Queenslanders to take advantage of the offer and show their support live from Allianz Stadium.

“If you’re a member of one of the four Queensland clubs … and want to go to the game tomorrow night at Moore Park (Allianz Stadium) … you can follow the link and prove you’re a Queenslander,” Cowboys legend Johnathan Thurston told Channel 9’s The Today Show.

“We'd love to see as many Queenslanders there as possible tomorrow night.”

Airlines have charged as much as $1700 for a return flight to Sydney, making it costly for both the Cowboys and the club’s supporters to attend the match.

Youi Brand & Partnerships Manager Drew Reid said he hoped this initiative would see the stadium packed with fans from both teams, not just Cronulla’s.

“We know that Footy is Made by Fans – the game just wouldn’t be the same without them, and nothing beats the atmosphere of a stadium filled with two opposing sets of footy fans during finals,” Reid said.

“That’s why Youi is helping Queensland fans get down to the game and show their support.”

Fans are encouraged to be creative as possible with their submissions to youiqueenslander@nrl.com.au, as long as they showcase that they are a fan.
