A powerful player manager with links to Sydney Roosters star Latrell Mitchell has been suspended by the NRL on Friday afternoon over a bankruptcy claim.
The 16 clubs have been notified in an email from Agent Accreditation Operations Manager Paul Massey not to deal with Mario Tartak, the boss of Crown Sports Management.
Kangaroos, Origin and Rabbitohs star Damien Cook is among his clients.
He also manages Manly Sea Eagles hooker Manase Fainu, the player who was denied bail for allegedly stabbing another man.

The suspension follows bankruptcy proceedings by American Express in the Federal Court.
Tartak is allegedly the agent who has spoken to the Canterbury Bulldogs chairman George Coorey on behalf of Roosters star Mitchell about the possibility of him joining the Bulldogs.
This is despite the fact Mitchell is managed by another agent, Wayde Rushton.
The ‘suspension’ email, leaked to The Daily Telegraph by an NRL club, says:
“Please be advised that on this date the 8th November 2019 the Accreditation of Accredited Agent Mario Tartak was suspended.
“The suspension of the Accreditation of the Agent renders him unable to negotiate with any Club on behalf of a Player in accordance with the NRL Playing Contract Remuneration Rules and Collective Bargaining Agreement.
“Please provide this email notice to all relevant staff within your Clubs who may be required to negotiate with Player Agents as part of their duties in the future.
“You will be advised in writing if the accreditation status of Mr Tartak changes in the future.
Kind regards, Paul Massey.”
Tartak declined to comment when contacted by The Daily Telegraph.
He will need to apply to the NRL integrity unit to have his accreditation reinstated.
