James Tedesco is on the verge of signing a life contract with the Sydney Roosters.
The champion fullback will join the likes of Manly’s Kangaroos half Daly Cherry-Evans and Gold Coast Titans recruit David Fifita as the highest paid players in the NRL.
It comes a fortnight after the Roosters locked up five-eighth Luke Keary on a new three-year deal.

Tedesco’s father John said: “It’s not too far off. You look at (Daly) Cherry-Evans and (Jason) Taumalolo with their lifetime contracts.
“That’s what James is looking at. That’s definitely what he wants. He loves the Roosters and everything about the club.
“(Luke) Keary, (Victor) Radley, Boyd (Cordner) and all the boys are great mates.”
The Roosters’ contract will be worth around $1.2 million-a-season. Over five years it will be close to a $6 million deal and take him through until he is 32.
