WITNESSES to Mitchell Pearce’s dog act, Dale Copley and Jayden Nikorima, are set to be sanctioned for breaking a direct order to go home.

The Roosters are investigating the behaviour of the ex-Broncos who are seen in the infamous video in which Pearce sexually degrades a poodle, urinates on a couch and tries to force himself on a woman.

The person meant to be setting the example for the new recruits to Bondi could end up costing Copley and Nikorima the chance at Round 1 selection.

The Roosters will likely fine and possibly suspend Copley and Nikorima for disobeying instructions to go home.

The Courier-Mail can reveal Roosters players drinking at Double Bay’s Royal Oak on Tuesday night were given specific instructions to go home once the club went into lockdown at 1.30am.

A Roosters official was present with Pearce, Copley and Nikorima and other players at the Royal Oak and handed them cab dockets to go home.

Roosters officials believe even though Nikorima, 19, and Copley, 23, only witnessed Pearce’s depravity, they shouldn’t have been in the apartment where the dog incident happened in the first place.

Nikorima and Copley were interviewed at Sydney Roosters headquarters on Thursday with questions asked about their presence in the video and why they continued to party after being told to head home.

The video that could end Pearce’s career shows both players were present at the time of his simulated sex act with a dog but appeared to do nothing wrong.

Copley is wearing a pink shirt and is merely sitting on a seat minding his own business while Nikorima’s voice is heard yelling out several comments to Pearce.

A Royal Oak spokesman said the players were well behaved at the venue on Tuesday night.

“They had a football manager with them and there were no problems. We have a lot of Roosters players come here because that’s our club and there has never been an issue and there wasn’t any issue while they were here on Tuesday,” the spokesman said.

The two Brisbane talents have received a rude awakening as to how dangerous Sydney night-life can be.

There is a long history of Queensland stars struggling under the bright lights of Sydney.

From Justin Hodges to Ben Barba and Ben Te’o many have sought a quick return home after finding the Sydney night-life was ruining their careers.

Copley even told journalists this week he found Sydney daunting.

“I have pretty much spent all of my life in Brisbane so it was a bit daunting before I came down,” Copley said recently.

“Sydney is a bit intimidating to be honest.

“I am not too worried now I am down here and among it.”

Nikorima is in line to replace Pearce in the Roosters team if the Blues star is suspended or expelled from the NRL.
