HE cuts a taut and trim figure now but it wasn’t so long ago this NRL star was banished to the ‘fat club’ for returning to pre-season training a little on the tubby side.

Canberra coach Ricky Stuart has waged a battle against the bulge over the summer with a number of his biggest stars returning from the World Cup overweight.

England international Elliott Whitehead was forced into extra sessions after he arrived at Raiders headquarters carrying a few too many kilograms.

But if this photo is anything to go by the edge backrower is crushing his flab to fab fitness regimen.

“Just reflecting on a tough session this afternoon. How am I in fat club and @huntah121 (Royce Hunt) isn’t?? #absfordays”, Elliot said on his social media.

We wonder if fellow fat club members Josh Papalii, Junior Paulo, Joey Leilua and Jordan Rapana are faring as well as Whitehead?

Maybe Raiders players should get some diet and exercise advice from NRL Rookie of the Year Nick Cotric who clearly eats nothing but iron for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
