CANBERRA are resigned to letting former Test prop Shannon Boyd go — unable to match an offer from the Gold Coast believed to be worth more than $600,000 a season.
In a move that could see the first domino of off-contract forward’s fall this week, Canberra have ramped-up their bid to sign QLD Origin and Storm prop Tim Glasby in the wake of Boyd’s rejection of the Raiders contract offer.
Newcastle is another club interested in signing Glasby and Boyd.
Should Boyd link with the Titans, his arrival could impact the Queensland club’s retention of star prop Jarrod Wallace, who is also wanting a contract extension.
Wallace is a free agent for next season, with the front-rower’s current Titans contract containing a clause in his favour.
The Maroons prop has until June 30 to decide whether he will continue his career at the Titans or return to Red Hill in 2019.
After playing four matches for Australia in the 2016 Four Nations, Boyd has been unable to replicate his best form since.

However, his 122kg frame would a major lure for the Titans and Knights, who are eager to add size to their pack.
Such is the Raiders desire to sign Glasby, 29, coach Ricky Stuart has spoken about the Origin prop to not only Storm coach Craig Bellamy, but also Maroons coach Kevin Walters and also Test coach Mal Meninga.
Melbourne also haven’t given up hope of retaining Glasby.
With the likelihood of this being Boyd’s final season coupled with reports Junior Paulo has signed with Parramatta, the Raiders are eager to replenish their forward stocks.
That includes the retention of Josh Papalii, who is expected to make a call on whether he accepts a significant offer from the club, within the next 48-hours.
Raiders half Aidan Sezer is expected to sign with the club this week, leaving halves partner Blake Austin to continue fighting for his future.
