The 187cm, 83kg speed machine will come under the mentorship of Wayne Bennett from next season and follows an impressive international Test debut for PNG in the Oceania Test series earlier this year.
Rabbitohs football general manager Shane Richardson said he was confident the club could develop him into a future NRL star.
“He has scored 19 tries in 29 games over the past two seasons with his sides winning 22 of those 29 games in which he has played,” Richardson said.
“His speed and hard running are his major assets and we’re sure that he can add more strings to his bow in our system.
“He brings with him international experience and with some refinement of his game, as well surrounding him in a full-time professional environment, we’re certain he has what it takes to move towards an NRL debut.

“We’re all keen to see what Edene can achieve at our club.”
Seagulls coach Adam Brideson on Thursday congratulated the youngster on the announcement.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for him to go to a great club and he deserves the opportunity,” Brideson said.
