The Dragons have reacted to the injury of their captain Cameron McInnes by signing former South Sydney hooker Billy Brittain.
Last year’s Player of the Year in the Canterbury Cup with Souths, Brittain has signed a train and trial contract with St George-Illawarra, effective immediately.
Brittain, who has represented the NSW Residents and played two NRL matches for Souths last year, will waste no time adjusting to his new club, with the talented dummy-half set to play in the Dragons trial match against Newcastle in Maitland on Saturday.

Boasting creativity and attacking awareness, Brittain has also spent time in the Melbourne Storm system, where he played halfback.
In a bitter blow for Saints, McInnes is set to miss the next eight to 12 weeks with an MCL knee injury suffered at the NRL Perth Nines.
It left the Dragons short in the dummy-half position with former Kiwi Test hooker Isaac Luke the club’s next best option.
Brittain’s acquisition will provide depth to the position and allow coach Paul McGregor to rest Luke during matches.
