THE Geelong Cats have taken a dig at the NRL’s Bulldogs after Patrick Dangerfield used the AFL club’s Wacky Wednesday celebrations to poke fun at Canterbury’s Mad Monday controversy.
The Bulldogs came under fire last week after players took their post-season celebrations too far, with some of the NRL stars stripping naked on an open-air balcony at a Sydney pub before being photographed drunk and vomiting in the street.
Dangerfield was spotted on Wednesday wearing a Bulldogs jersey, just 10 days after Adam Elliot and Asipeli Finewere photographed naked at Canterbury’s Mad Monday.
The former Brownlow Medal winner wore compression shorts under a pair of budgie smugglers.
Dangerfield’s cheeky dig at the Bulldogs follows the NRL club issuing its own players with fines for their behaviour at the Harbour View Hotel in Sydney.
Elliott and Fine were each fined $15,000 by the club and issued court attendance notices by police for wilful and obscene exposure.
Marcelo Montoya and Zac Woolford were also fined heavily.
NRL boss Todd Greenberg was also unimpressed with the behaviour of Bulldogs players. He slapped Canterbury with a huge $250,000 penalty after viewing CCTV footage of players at the pub.
The Harbour View Hotel was hit with five penalty notices for indecent behaviour on premises and permitting intoxication on premises.

The crisis reached a new low for Canterbury last week when the club lost major sponsor Jaycar and a sponsorship deal worth $500,000 annually.
Jaycar founder and boss Gary Johnston has been a decade-long major sponsor at Belmore but decided to end his company’s association with the club following the Mad Monday scandal.
