“I just feel as though the time is now right for me to step down from the board and focus all my energies on my business,” Anderson said. “With the appointment of Steve Price, working in conjunction with Andrew Hill and Dean Pay, I feel as though the club is in a great place regarding both football experience and senior leadership.
“We have made some important changes that will support the coach and the team to get us back to where the Bulldogs belong.”
Anderson’s wife Lynne will remain in her role as Bulldogs chair. The Anderson’s swept to power during the club’s bitter 2018 elections.
Anderson is the third high profile board member to exit the club in recent months. Club legend Steve Mortimer stood aside in August as did premiership winning player Steve Price. Price’s decision to stand-down from the board came after he accepted the role of the Bulldogs general manager of football.
Price nor Anderson will be replaced on the board before the elections.
